Ribs & Rhythm

Ribs and Rhythym” at Nixor College rose above a mere barbeque. uniting generations through delicious food, live music, and genuine connections, fostering warmth and understanding.

“Ribs and Rhythm”, a flagship event of SCWP, has been executed successfully for four years now. This is a heartwarming initiative hosted at Nixor College, transcending the realms of a mere barbeque event, becoming a powerful testament to intergenerational connection and community compassion. The project’s primary aim was to bridge the generational gap by hosting a memorable barbeque experience for the Elderly residents of Sahara Village.

The execution of the project involved methodical planning and collaboration with Nixor Logistics and Nixor Records as well as gathering a committed team of volunteers who along with the support of the executives orchestrated the event, from sourcing the ingredients to creating an inviting ambiance. The inclusion of live music created an extra layer of vibrancy, creating an atmosphere conducive to fostering connections and sharing experiences.

The impact of the project was deeply emotional and uplifting. The Elderly residents, many of whom might have felt marginalized or forgotten, were treated to a day of joy and companionship. The aroma of sizzling barbeque, the melodic sounds of laughter, and the shared stories created a sense of nostalgia and belonging, offering the elderly a reprieve from their daily routines. Moreover, the Elderly residents found a source of solace and renewed vitality through companionship with the younger generation.

As “Ribs and Rhythm” came to an end and the embers of the barbeque faded, the connections we forged will last for generations and we hope to pioneer editions of this event for years to come.
